Kenya Mission Trip - January 18 - February 3, 2010
On January 18, 2010, Fred Breedlove went to Kenya with World Impact Network (WIN) for a two-week mission trip. One of the primary goals was to meet with local Pastors and Community Leaders to better equip them to help their communities. A 3-day seminar was held to provide leadership training and guidance to 50 Senior Pastors in leadership skills, Christian doctrine, and other topics. Fred also met with the Pastors and Community Leaders to provide mentoring in Disaster preparedness, Basic First Aid/CPR training. Fred also provided computer training and First Aid/CPR training for a small NGO, church and orphanage in the South Kinangop area north of Nairobi.
Our Mission Team The mission team was comprised of Gabriella Van Breda (Executive Director of WIN), Olu Oluwatofehinti (Associate Pastor at the Bellevue Foursquare Church), and Fred Breedlove (Elder at Mountain View Community Church in Snohomish). Pastor Peter van Breda (Senior Pastor of the Bellevue Foursquare Church) and Gabriella founded World Impact Network (http://www.worldimpactnetwork.org) in 1994, a Bellevue, WA based international Christian humanitarian organization meeting the needs of the poor locally and globally through networking, leadership and skill training, and basic needs assistance in order to help restore human dignity. Peter and Gabriella, originally from South Africa, have a strong desire to train and equip leaders to successfully impact their communities. Pastor Olu Oluwatofehinti, a native of Nigeria, has lived and studied in the United Kingdom and in the United States for several years, and he has a great perspective on issues in the developing nations of Africa. Fred Breedlove, was an Elder at Mountain View Community Church (Christian & Missionary Alliance) in Snohomish, has been involved in short term missions since 2001, serving in Mexico, the U.S.A., and Sri Lanka. Fred is also active as a Chaplain's Assistant (HCMA trained), an American Red Cross Volunteer and licensed First Aid/CPR/AED instructor for the American Red Cross, and as a Search & Rescue Volunteer.
