Video Interview by Gabriella Van Breda (Director of World Impact Network) and Fred Breedlove with Alice, one of Fred's First Aid/CPR students on November 13, 2018 in Engineer, Kenya.
After completing the class, Alice went home and later that night (3:00 am) she used her new First Aid skills to save her sister's life. Her sister, who was 3-months pregnant, was attacked by an intruder who stabbed her twice with a knife. Due to Alices quick response and her new First Aid skills, she was able to stop the bleeding from the first wound and immobilize the knife which was still stuck in her sisters abdomen, and get her transported to the hospital. The sister survived, but sadly her unborn child did not survive.
This story exemplifies why First Aid/CPR training is so important in Kenya and other countries.
